Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family,

Psalm 85:10 “Mercy and truth have met together; Righteousness and peace have kissed.” Many years ago I heard a preacher point out the amazing irony of this verse. Mercy is God’s withholding what I deserve. The Truth is that I am guilty and undeserving of Mercy. Righteousness is God’s holiness. Peace with God is impossible because I cannot be righteous. God must do an amazing work of grace for Mercy and Truth to meet and for Righteousness and Peace to kiss. David understood the irony and wonder of our salvation.

It’s “Nerd Night” tonight in Awana. I believe I’ve spent most of my life practicing for this event.

Saturday is Veteran’s Day. Be sure to thank those who have served and are serving. They are needed as much as ever.

We have a pretty normal Lord’s Day coming at us. Adult Sunday School classes continue to be “Stewardship” and “OT in the NT.” Children’s Choir is going to sing on Sunday morning. On Sunday morning I am going to be walking through the “Mount Olivet Discourse” – Mark 13. It is the most complete prophecy given by Jesus. Pastor Charlie will be preaching from the Psalms on Sunday evening. Adult Choir practice is at 5:30 p.m. this Sunday. There will be no Children’s Choir this week. The Finance Committee will meet at 5:30 p.m. this Sunday.

Continue to pray for Jaclyn C and her daughters in their time of grief and adjustment to losing their husband and dad. Pray also for Ron and Amy H after the loss of Ron’s mom.

I spoke with Pat S. She is frustrated with the pain but is recovering well from her hip replacement surgery.

Please beg for God to be big and do a miracle in Kathy R’s body. She is experiencing pain in her lungs and is concerned for the growth of the nodules that she knows are there. Radiation on her back and chemo for her lungs is planned in December.

Trinity Baptist School is having a good year. We’ve grown by two families and 4 students since the beginning of the school year. Pray the staff has wisdom and strength for each day’s challenges. It’s hard to believe but our school year is 1/3rd over at the end of this week!

Pray for our country. Yesterday’s off-year elections revealed a growing acceptance of abortion in our country. Our budget is out of control with another pending shut down. Our world is in turmoil with multiple hot spots. Pray for wisdom for the United States, for Israel. Pray for our missionaries. Read their letters in the bulletin and remember them before God. Pray for the preaching of the Word of God in our church – that it would be done rightly and be effective. Pray for souls to be saved through our ministry.

Embracing Truth. Equipping Saints.

Pastor
