Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Praise the LORD. Lin reminded me recently that when we were in Liberia we noticed that every time someone gave a testimony in church they began with “Praise the LORD.” Whatever else I do today, I must “Praise the LORD.”
Tonight we are in summer mode for Wednesday Bible Study & Prayer. We begin at 7:00 p.m. Teens (those going into 6th grade this fall and up) go down to the SE classroom with Pastor Charlie (PC), preschool through those going into 5th grade next fall are in the basement with Carolyn O. and the adults are with me in the auditorium. We will pick up Elijah’s story at the end of 1 Kings 19. Next Wednesday is TBS Awards and that will begin at 6:30 p.m. Then we are back again to summer mode until the end of August (except for a VBS break on July 27, 2022).
This Saturday, May 14th, is our annual Church Cleaning Day. We’d like to wash windows, shampoo chairs, scrub tables, wipe down walls, and more! I’ve attached a couple of project lists to help motivate you. The doors will be open at 8:00 a.m. and we plan to be gone by noon! Bring the whole family and take on a project or two.
Pray for missionary Caleb S and other ministries in Peru. They have enjoyed the same tax exempt status for their churches and ministries that we have. Recently, some local politicians have changed the rules, perhaps for their own benefit. Pray for these ministries.
Pray also for our missionary, Doug B. He left for Nepal yesterday. He will be joining a team to teach local pastors and not return until the end of the month.
Continue to pray for the church in Ukraine. Pastor Paul V, the current president of our WFBC fellowship, is joining missionary Tim S to travel there today to help with the refugees.
I spoke briefly with Jean last evening. She is still at Froedtert. After surgery they left her leg open for draining of the swelling. This is taking longer than planned. She will be there at least through this week. Hopefully she will have some therapy by the end of the week.
Dave tells me that Patsy is up-beat and continues to grow stronger. She is going to therapy and resting. She has appreciated your cards. They both thank us for the prayers of this church.
The Haydens have not been in church for a long while. Pray for their health.
Pray for wisdom and healing for Tim Sch’s dad.
Sunday morning my text is Revelation 4:1 – one verse. We will be looking at several other texts. In recent years, believing that the Lord is going to snatch away His bride before the Tribulation and Day of God’s Wrath has become unpopular. Many think those who hold to the position of Trinity Baptist to be simpletons who want to believe in the fantastic idea of Jesus taking His Church away from this world. The truth is, those who think this are only listening to the current winds. There are very intelligent and well-learned people who who to a Pre-Tribulation Rapture and others equally intelligent and well-learned who disagree. On Sunday morning I will share again some reasons why I look forward to an imminent return of Jesus for His Church. It’s a Bride Snatching!
On Sunday evening, Pastor Shaeffer will continue his walk through the story of Jesus as preserved for us by Dr. Luke.
Embracing Truth, Pastor
