Wednesday, March 25, 2020 Fear#9
Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family: At 120 years old, Moses had spent the last third of his life leading Israel. Now God told him that he was to die and Joshua would lead the nation. As Israel considered the challenges in their future, Moses reminded them of God’s provisions in the past. He said, “Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6.
We are heading into four weeks like which we have never seen. And there are “giants” and “walled cities” before us. I believe God would have us to “be strong and of good courage” and not fear. After all, God goes with us and will not forsake us.
I went through a copy of Governor Evers “Safer at Home” order. I believe we will keep both the letter and spirit of the order if we continue doing the things we have been doing this past week. “Religious entities” are allowed to continue to operate within the physical distancing guidelines. Distance education may continue to be facilitated. Buildings may continue to be maintained. Travel to facilitate distance learning may happen. Mail is not hindered by this order.
I was excited about the hopes of President Trump to lift restrictions by Easter. But from the numbers I heard on the news last night and the new order of governor, I think we need to adjust our expectations for the month of April. I don’t know the future. I do know we will all be different for having gone through this. May God use this in my life to teach me more of the character of Jesus Christ.
Pastor Shaeffer will be on the Trinity Baptist Church facebook page at 7:00 p.m. tonight for Bible study and prayer. Have your family, your Bible, paper, and pen with you.
