Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, David asks a soul-searching question in Psalm 8:4 “What is mankind that You are mindful of him?” It is amazing and humbling to know that the Creator of the infinite universe thinks about me! Our God is truly wonderful.
We have many health prayer requests. Carolyn O will have surgery tomorrow in Milwaukee. Kathy R and Mollie H are fighting cancer. Holly V has begun to respond to treatment and hopes to be moved to a rehab hospital. Van F is in week 2 of radiation treatments. Anita G is in a rehab center recovering from her hip replacement. Bill S was in church Sunday and is still very sore from his shoulder repair. I’m sure there are more.
Levi S is going to Ankeny, IA tomorrow for Bible college. Pray for safe travels, good friends, and a good church. Theresa D has asked us to pray for the legal matters involving her dad.
Tonight, August 23, 2023, is our Awana Directors’ Meeting. Pray for these key leaders as they meet to talk about this wonderful ministry God has given to us.
We are on day 3 of this TBS year. We have two new students joining us tomorrow. Pray for the students, fellow students, parents and teachers as this adjustment is made.
We have tonight and next week, August 30th, left in our summer Bible studies. Beginning September 6th we transition back to our Awana year schedule. The adults will then meet at the parsonage at 6:45 p.m. so they can be gone before the children hit the parking lot at 8:00 p.m. Curt O will be leading this study in September.
Sunday, August 27th, is our annual church picnic! We will meet after morning church at McDermott Park – next door to the church. We will plan to begin serving at 12:30 p.m. – so you have time to go home and change and get food. The church will provide brats, dogs, buns, condiments, water, lemonade, table service, and serving utensils. You may give a donation to help with the cost of the meat. Please bring a dish or two to pass. It will be a potluck buffet. Bring lawn chairs for your comfort. Pastor Charlie will have games set up. Miss Sarah is planning a couple of games for the young children. The day ends when everyone goes home. We have reserved the pavilion.
A picnic policy was inserted in Sunday’s bulletin. More copies are on the back table. The most important part of it is this: parents are responsible for the health and safety of their own children.
Praise the LORD for He alone is worthy. God is Awesome.
Embracing Truth. Equipping Saints.
