Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, First, I want to rejoice with you about the refreshing Lord’s Day we had. What a joy to hear Mark Herbster preach the gospel. I was encouraged and challenged. I am so glad the weather cooperated on Sunday. I always complain a bit to God when the weather discourages us from corporate worship on the Lord’s Day.
I received an email from Jean Winkler today. She is praising God to tell us that her brother George is cancer free. We have prayed for him this past year. She also said that she is enjoying the weather in Arizona. I think she said that just to poke at us this week. So let’s praise and thank God with Jean, her brother George, and his wife Bev. God is faithful.
Pray for Tom and LeAnn. The plan is for LeAnn to move to a residential care facility this week. It is going to be a big change for both of them. This is the best and right choice for this time in LeAnn’s life. I’ll give more information as she gets settled in to her new home.
Well, last week we cancelled Awana and Bible study on Wednesday night because of the snow. We have had a tradition that if we have no school on a Wednesday, we also have no Wednesday evening activities at the church. I know it was pretty nice out by Awana time and perhaps some were not informed. In addition to this email, we post cancellations on KFIZ, our facebook pages for Awana and Church, and on our church website. If you are not sure if we are closed or not, there are places to go to find the information.
This week the weather people are telling us that tonight through Thursday noon we are going to have unsafe cold with extreme wind chills. Trinity Baptist School will not have school Wednesday or Thursday. Once again we will cancel Awana and Bible study for this week. If this gives you some time with family, might I suggest that you read and pray together!
Souped Up! is a week from Thursday. It is not too late to take a sign up to work for lunch time delivery. You can drop by the church to eat in or take out from 11a to 7p. Eat in is an all you care to eat buffet of soup and take out is a quart, either one for $8. If you can help by bringing a dessert or by serving during the day, check out the sign ups in the back on Sunday.
Saturday, February 2, is a Men’s Prayer breakfast. If you are not signed up and would like to join us, please let me know by Friday afternoon so there will be food for you!
Sunday is a Lord’s Table day. We will examine the Biblical relationship of Trinity Baptist Church to other churches in the morning service. Sunday evening we are going to look again at our role in evangelism using the Exchange.
Stay warm. Contact someone who might be hurting or shut in.
Embracing Truth, Pastor
