Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Psalm 123:1-2 “Unto You I lift up my eyes, O You who dwell in the heavens. 2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their masters, as the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God, until He has mercy on us.” We have a very earthy picture of our relationship with God. As an attentive employee, or maybe a waiter is a better picture in our culture, studies the employer to know best how to accomplish the employer’s agenda, so we watch the hand of God. We watch to see what He is doing. We watch Him to know how we ought to respond to circumstances. How can we watch God? First and foremost we must watch Him in His Word.
Continue to pray for Tony M. He is still in the hospital and on a ventilator. The news Linda received today was not good. Dan G is home and doing better. The Leeds (Sarah, Lin, and I) are recovering well. Continue to pray for God’s protection for our church family from COVID. God has been very good to us.
Nestor D has asked us to pray for an unspoken request for Vaughn and Naiza.
Continue to pray for the country of Myanmar, especially for the Christians who live there. The government has greatly limited gatherings and liberties.
The Wisconsin Family Council is sponsoring “Time to Roll Up Our Sleeves!” at the Fond du Lac Pizza Ranch this Thursday, February 11th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Dinner is included and there is no charge to attend the event. I would encourage you to bring a donation to cover your own expenses. Julaine is going to focus upon what we can do in our backyard to make a difference. You can register ahead of time by calling 888-378-7395.
Dr. Doug Brown from Faith Baptist Theological Seminary is our preacher this weekend. He will also be preaching at the Pastors’ & Wives’ Retreat hosted by Trinity Baptist on Monday and Tuesday. He will be encouraging us in our ministries in our Post-Truth world. In addition to hearing Dr. Brown in Sunday School, morning service and the evening service, you may “sit in” the Pastors’ and Wives’ sessions. These opportunities will be on Monday at 2:00 p.m. and on Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. If you are willing and able to serve during the retreat, please talk to Beth Braker.
It has been a weird week already. I have recently found greater comfort in my time in the Scriptures. They are an immoveable rock in a very unstable world. May you fix your soul and it’s pleasures upon Truth that cannot be moved.
Embracing Truth, Pastor
