Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Psalm 23:1 “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” Because this psalm is so familiar, the NKJV translators did not change it enough. When the KJV says “I shall not want” it means “I lack nothing. I have everything I need.” May we be so content with the provisions of the Shepherd that we agree with David. I have all I need.
I am weary of talking about me, but I know many have prayed and are wondering about what I learned this morning. The biopsy from last Thursday has confirmed that seminoma has moved into my lymph nodes. If all goes well, I will begin 9 weeks of chemo beginning a week from Monday. I am told that this cancer responds well to this chemo. Pray with me that I respond rightly as I go through chemo. (I am a self-centered baby when I feel sickly.) Pray that the chemo is successful in chasing this from my body. May Jesus Christ be praised. And pray I have wisdom in caring for myself and my responsibilities during the coming weeks.
Awana Pie Auction raised over $2,100 last night for Carolyn Price for the orphanage in Bolivia. Praise God. Grandparents’ Day is tomorrow at school at noon. The youth have a hayride/bonfire at Mohrs at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. On Sunday, we have a missionary to Haiti – Jimmy Pierre – who will be in Sunday School and the evening service.
