Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Proverbs 13:13-14 “He who despises the word will be destroyed, but he who fears the commandment will be rewarded. 14 The law of the wise is a fountain of life, to turn one away from the snares of death.” Great security comes by loving God’s Word, by desiring correction from God’s wisdom. Death and destruction will pursue those who hate God’s wisdom. Humans don’t naturally desire correction. Mature Christians know that correction is a continuous necessity. As long as I am in this flesh, I will need to desire God’s Word.
This building is buzzing with end-of-school excitement. The high school are testing today and the elementary are off on a field trip. Tomorrow evening is high school graduation at TBC for Annika Shaeffer and Micah Struska. The evening begins at 7:00 p.m. Pastor Doug Hanback will be our speaker. Come listen to the word and celebrate this milestone in the lives of our future.
Linda M has asked us to pray for her unsaved family members and for them to be an effective witness. She especially has asked us to pray for her brother Steve who is at Froedert and very ill with liver failure. Kathy R’s biopsy is on Monday. She should know the results in the next day or two after that and then will learn what the path forward will look like.
We have a Spring Cleaning Work Day on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until noon.
On Sunday I will return to the second half of Daniel 7. We will learn about the “Little Horn with a Big Mouth.” In adult Sunday School, I will be in 1 Samuel 23-24 and Pastor Sheeffer will continue the “Love Like You Mean It” series. Pastor Shaeffer is preaching from Luke in the evening service. At 5:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon, we have a Men’s Meeting. This meeting will refer budgets to our Congregation’s annual meeting and consider a major project on our agenda. I encourage men who are members to attend.
Pray for our Jerusalem and Gaza. Pray that our governmental leaders make wise choices. Pray that our homes might demonstrate love and character. Pray that God’s Word be exalted as we meet on the Lord’s Day.
Embracing Truth, Pastor
