Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, In my reading I just finished Ezekiel again. The last 9 chapters detail much about the the land of Israel, the temple, and temple worship during the Millennial Kingdom. I’ll admit to skimming some of it pretty quickly. The book ends with this phrase: “and the name of the city from that day shall be: THE LORD IS THERE.” I want that to be my name! Since the Spirit of God indwells me as a believer in Jesus, I want people to know that the LORD is in and with me. I want this to be the name of our church. How wonderful it would be if when people left our services they said, “The LORD is there”! And what of our country? Is it wrong for us to wish that our culture reflected God’s Word to the point where the nations of the world might say of America, “the LORD is there”? I think not! This needs to begin with my own heart and my own family. May we each so live that our reputation is one of identification with the presence of the LORD.
Tomorrow is Church Dinner Day! Bring a dish to pass and come for a time of fellowship. I’ll be talking about friends from 2 Samuel 15 for our lunch devotions. In the morning service I am going to key on the word “Chosen” from Ephesians 1:1-6. In adult/teen Sunday School we have a missionary pilot from JAARS who is in town for EAA.
We have a busy two weeks ahead of us with Kohler Fundraiser, LEAD Camp, and Men’s Retreat. Pray that in all our busy-ness, we might see and know Jesus. Pray for God’s Word to be our light, that we as a church might be obedient. Pray for wisdom for our families. Pray for preparations that are in full swing for TBS. Pray now for children who will be coming to Awana soon. May Jesus Christ be praised.
Embracing Truth, Pastor
