Pray for the Boisverts!
By now you might have heard the final announcement that EBM is dissolving as of September 2 2011. This was shocking news to us as well as maybe to you. We are grieving and facing a variety of emotions and thoughts about this. We desire to be fully accountable to you as our supporting Churches, however we received the official notice from EBM 5 minutes before boarding our connecting flight for Africa.
We had been informed of serious problems this summer but had no idea of the magnitude of the problem. Still we do not know any of the details to even be able to tell you why. What you have received is all the information that we have received about the action of our board. We grieve over how this might influence so many faithful missionaries in foreign lands and others view of missions in general as well. We pray that it will not discourage Gods people from looking only to our Author & Finisher of the Faith, Jesus Christ.
Right now I am writing this from Uganda Africa on a month long trip. We will not return until 23 September. However, I am understanding that in the letter you received from EBM there was mention of a number of invitations from other mission boards to receive any EBM missionaries immediately under their auspices. Believe us that this is happening so quickly for us missionaries. Our board is giving us very little time to react and make long term decisions. These offers are gracious but not binding for EBM missionaries.
Please be assured that we are not planning to sign on with any other mission board or any other decision until we have had the opportunity to meet first with our sending Church, Springville Baptist Church, and be in contact with as many supporting Churches as possible. I am not of a mind to accept any of the missionary agencies being suggested at this point and were recently presented other options. We will have to move quickly upon our return to the States in September. We are in a rather tense situation at the moment. We will not be receiving any more funds from EBM and have asked most of you to hold any support until we can figure out where you can send it. We want to make this decision carefully so not to get any of our supporting Churches in a legal complication with the IRS. In the meantime, we have no income or ministry funds with which to live and work. Right now we are using our own personal funds for this current trip. We will be seeking God’s direction on this.
PLEASE JOIN US IN PRAYER in this situation. We will be seeking to properly address this with all of you upon our return to the States. We ask for your patience in dealing with this please. There is little we can do now without delaying or interrupting the teaching opportunities God has provided at this point in time in Uganda, Kenya & Tanzania.
