Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Psalm 2:1 “Why do the nations rage, and the peoples plot a vain thing?” These words written 3,000 years ago address our current world. In the rest of this prophetic psalm we see “the Lord’s Anointed” empowered to “break them with a rod of iron.” No matter what seems to be, believers in Jesus need to remember that God is in charge and He will repay evil.
Health updates: Lola is recovering from Wednesday’s long reconstruction surgery well enough that a skin repair surgery is scheduled for tomorrow. Continue to pray for infection to stay away and for great skill for the surgeons. I am waiting for a call from Froedtert to schedule a biopsy. Ken’s doctors are adjusting his heart medications. Jeanie has gout with a very swollen and painful foot. Bonnie is home and would appreciate cards or calls.
The 70th annual meeting of the Wisconsin Fellowship of Baptist Churches is today and tomorrow. Jeremy and Amber, Charlie, Lin and I are traveling to Delavan to participate and represent Trinity Baptist Church. Dr. Wayne Vawter has resigned from his role as State Mission’s Director. Dr. Scott Jones and his wife Robin are going to step into the roles of Wayne and Carole at this meeting. Pray for safety from COVID for all involved in this meeting. Pray for God to bless this fellowship as it seeks to encourage and multiply churches like ours.
Tomorrow morning’s 6:00 a.m. Men for Christ Bible Study will not meet because I will be out of town. I have attached this week’s Here a Little.
I am also going to attach an excellent article by Pastor Scott Carson. He addresses a facet of international racism and gives us some practical ways to respond.
Serve God this week. It is not only our calling, but our joy.
Embracing Truth, Pastor
