Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Psalm 27:4-5 “One thing I have desired of the Lord, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord, And to inquire in His temple. 5 For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock.” This psalm has been a favorite of mine since I was made to learn it in 6th grade in a Christian school. I identify with v. 4 where David says he has asked that he might spend his days in the house of the Lord. I like being in church! And I enjoyed the fellowship and the time in the Word yesterday. Then, note that it is David’s agenda to know God. In v. 5 David says God will hide him in times of trouble in God’s house. Yes, this means that God protects us in our worship wherever we are, but I see a special focus upon being protected in God’s house.
Crystal went to the ER on Sunday evening because she was in great pain. They found that her large intestine is very inflamed and diagnosed her with diverticulitis. They sent her home with pain medication. This morning her doctor said they need to wait for the inflammation to subside and heal before a colonoscopy to see what damage has been done. This will take about 3 months. Pray for her pain to be reduced so that she may sleep. Pray for wisdom as she takes care of herself and her family.
I am in the cancer center on Division Street today. The first day of my chemo cycles is a long one. They began by giving me medications to combat the effects of the chemo. God is good. I have received so many encouraging promises of the prayer’s of God’s people.
Men for Christ Bible study is tomorrow morning at 6:00 a.m. Consider joining us as we consider what the Bible says about issues that affect our daily lives.
