Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Psalm 103:15-18 As for man, his days are like grass; as a flower of the field, so he flourishes. 16 For the wind passes over it, and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more. 17 But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, and His righteousness to children’s children, 18 To such as keep His covenant, and to those who remember His commandments to do them.
Family is complicated. It is often a very personal mix of great, good, okay, and ugly. Through it all, we are to obey God. Family is one of the only permanent things we have in this life. Even if we are estranged, they are still family. And our goal ought to be to so live to glorify God generationally. Those without children can also have this goal as they impact children in church and children who are relatives. This to say, we had a good 10 days with family – both immediate and extended. And, thankfully, we safely travelled over 1,000 miles in my old van.
Tomorrow, Tuesday the 19th, is our monthly Senior Lunch Bible Study. We meet at Rolling Meadows at noon to order off the menu. After lunch, we will study Colossians 1:1-8.
Tomorrow morning our 6:00 a.m. Men’s Bible study is in 1 Corinthians 14. Also tomorrow, several of us are traveling to Green Bay for an Awana Connect meeting. The goal is to learn about presenting the gospel to children. Wednesday evening’s adult study will be on the siege of Samaria in 2 Kings 6-7.
I see many have signed up for serving with us at Kohler – our Trinity Baptist School fundraiser. We could still use some help on Saturday morning, July 30th. We will need to meet at the church at 6:00 a.m. and will return about 2:00 p.m.
Sailing with Jesus – our VBS – begins this Sunday during Sunday School and continues Sunday through Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. Encourage children 3 years through going into 8th grade to come. And pray for the salvation and spiritual growth of many.
It is good to be home. I greatly look forward to seeing you and worshipping with you again!
