Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family: When he was an old man, Daniel heard that the captivity in Babylon was to be for 70 years. He knew the time was getting closer. So in chapter 10 we read that Daniel spent 3 weeks morning concerning the state of Israel and praying God would do something to help. Twice in His reply to Daniel, God tells him to “fear not.” Daniel 10: 12, 19 Then he said to me, “Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words.” 19 And he said, “O man greatly beloved, fear not! Peace be to you; be strong, yes, be strong!” So when he spoke to me I was strengthened, and said, “Let my lord speak, for you have strengthened me.” Daniel was strengthened by God assurances in response to Daniel’s prayer.
