Lin’s “White as Snow”

I teach kindergarten, first, and second grades at Trinity Baptist School. My class loves to play in the snow. The plow pushes the snow from the parking lot into one huge pile on the playground end of the lot. After the snow has been around for a while it gets dirty.

One day last week we had a new snowfall and the plow had shoved all the new snow up to the old snow pile. There was quite a difference in the color of the two piles being merged together.

The kids saw the difference and spent the day covering the old dirty snow with the fresh white snow.

I thought to myself, how like a human to want to cover the dirt with something clean. We cover the dirt with the clean and take no thought that under the pristine white snow lies a pile of dirty snow.

Let us not be those who merely cover the dirt in our lives with a new look or a make over. Let us be those who get down to the dirt layer and rid our lives of the dirt. Let us go to the only One who is able to “make us white as snow”.
