Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family: Several from Trinity Baptist travelled to Dayton, Ohio to attend the memorial celebration for Jeremy’s dad, Mark Shaeffer. Jeremy and his siblings spoke of their dad’s character, love for Jesus, service, passion for Christian education, passion for truth, and ever growing love for God’s Word. The service touched a very sensitive spot in my heart. Although I did not know Mark well, the whole service was a tribute to the multi-generational transfer of truth, character, and passion for ministry – and that is where I want to live my life.
Continue to pray for the relatives of Mark. Pray especially for Jan as her life has greatly changed. Pray for God’s comfort and grace as they move forward in their service of Jesus.
Thank you to those who prayed for our safety on the road. Pray for Gary Heinz. He is waiting results from MRIs that were done Wednesday. Pray for employment for Ali Scharpf and Bob Tompkins. Pray for daily strength for Ross, Carol, and Janet. Pray for continued hope for those who grieve. Pray for the Shaeffers as they travel home.
Tonight our church family gets to fellowship at the Dockspiders game. I hope the rain goes away. And Sunday is Church Dinner Day!
Our missionary had to cancel so I have picked up Sunday School and the after dinner devos. In Sunday School we are looking at the Kingdom through its constitution – the Sermon on the Mount. In the afternoon we will close the book of Isaiah by walking through chapter 66. On Sunday morning we will learn from Jesus about hell.
Embracing Truth, Pastor
