Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Psalm 98:7-9 “Let the sea roar, and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell in it; 8 Let the rivers clap their hands; Let the hills be joyful together 9 before the Lord, for He is coming to judge the earth. With righteousness He shall judge the world, and the peoples with equity.” Judgment is not exactly something I look forward to. It normally means someone is going to be punished. Yet, the psalmist encourages nature and those who live in the world to be joyful because God is coming to judge. In a world full of inequity, the assurance of a Righteous Judge is a good thing. Only God knows what is right and only God has the right to judge.
Nestor tells me that Norma’s surgery went well. Jean is safe in AZ and settling in.
Suzanne’s son Brad had a heart attack Wednesday night. He had a blocked artery that they were able to put a stent in. He is 48. Pray for strength and healing. Continue to pray for her son Kevin who is on hospice from cancer.
Sunday morning we are in 2 Peter and will consider “False Teachers” in Christianity. On Sunday evening we have our quarterly business meeting. We increased our budget in July to bring Pastor Charlie on staff. God has seen fit to increase our general fund giving beyond our increase. At this mid-point of our fiscal year, you will see that our income in the general fund and the missions fund is up from a year ago and over our budgeted needs. Our school fund is in the red for this year, but we anticipated this going into the year. If you are looking for a way to help, either by participating in our school fund raising opportunities or by giving directly by designating to Patriot Boosters, you could help our school deficit to shrink.
Pray for our homes and marriages. Pray for yourself and other believers that we might live according God’s Word. Pray for our governmental leaders – that they may know the weight of their responsibilities and that we might live a peaceable life and have liberty to share the gospel (1 Timothy 2:1-4).
Embracing Truth, Pastor
