Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Lamentations 3:22-24 Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. 24 “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!” The Lamentations are the written poetic laments of Jeremiah as he witnessed firsthand the siege and destruction of Jerusalem in 586 b.c. They contain a lot of mourning and some pretty gross stuff. In the midst of his laments, Jeremiah gives us some treasures. As I considered the New Year, my mind recalled His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. New every morning! What a great God we serve! His love, grace, and mercy just keep coming my way. Every morning I wake up to another opportunity to grow more like Jesus, to be what He would be if He walked in my shoes today. AND I am equipped with the grace to accomplish such a feat. God’s faithfulness to me is great. Amen.
Jean W has been moved to Harbor Haven. They have an area that focuses on physical therapy. She asks that we continue to pray that she be able to walk again. She needs to gain much strength.
Nestor D asks us to pray for his mom, Norma. She again has a blocked bile duct. As of last night she was at Agnesian, but they were needing to transport her to a hospital where a special procedure could be done. Pray for opportunity for her to get transferred and for her healing.
Tonight (12-31) is Grub and Games. We will eat at 6:00 p.m. and the games will continue until the last dog is hung – metaphorically.
Andy Buhrow will present the ministry of Baptist for Life on Sunday during the Sunday School hour. After Lord’s Table we will take up a second offering that we will divide between Baptist for Life, Charis (Fond du Lac), and New Life (West Bend). Consider how you might strengthen these front line ministries in the cause of human life.
I return to Ephesians in the morning service. We are at war. No, not the USA, you! Then in the evening service we consider the amazing story of the boy God killed because he was good.
Choir begins its spring semester Sunday at 5:00 p.m. If you can carry a tune, join us!
TBSchool resumes Monday at 8:15 a.m. Pray for the Shaeffers as they return from Ohio.
Pray for one another. Pray for the ministry of the Word at Trinity Baptist.
Embracing Truth, Pastor
