Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Psalm 63:1-2 “O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water. 2 So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, to see Your power and Your glory.” When I read this today I said to Lin, “David amazes me. He is so passionate for God and had so few clues concerning Jesus.” With all I know and experience, my passion for God ought to logically exceed that of David. Verse 3 begins, “Because your lovingkindness is better than life.” O that this would be my thinking!
TBS finishes the 2nd week of the 3rd quarter today. The elementary are at the Maritime Museum in Manitowoc. Souped Up! is in two weeks: Thursday, February 2nd. You will soon be seeing promotions for Preschool for 2023-2024. Believe it or not, we begin thinking of next year now!
I am planning to attend the “No Regrets” men’s conference sponsored by other area churches on February 4th. If you are interested, a flyer on the entry bulletin board has information. Also, many attended Men for Christ down in Brookfield last spring. This year it is at a Baptist camp in Iowa – so housing and meals are are good deal. The dates are March 24th-25th. Again, information is on the bulletin board. “Save the date” information for WFBC’s Ladies’ Retreat is also on that board – March 31st-April 1st.
Sunday, we return to our two regular adult Sunday School classes. I am in Jeremiah 10, the conclusion to the “temple sermons.” Sunday morning I will walk through Lamentations 4. Pastor Shaeffer will minister the Word to us this Sunday evening.
As of tomorrow, the two darkest months are behind us for another year! I know, I know – we still have two months of cold weather, but we are gaining 2 minutes of sunlight every day! I need to finish up my winter projects because spring will return.
Pray for our country – its divisions and its morals. Pray for revival in your own heart – that you might have David’s passion for God.
