Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family,
Psalm 14:1 The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none who does good.” Many years ago someone pointed out to me that “There is” is in italics my Bible. This is a tool the translators used to indicate that they supplied these words to give aid to understanding. They are not in the Hebrew from which Psalms is translated. If we remove these two words, we could read that the fool says, “No, God.” Saying “no” to God is a form of atheism. If God is God, then He alone is Sovereign. If we believe this, we must say “Yes” when we know what He wills. When we say “No” we are practicing atheism. Oh may I obey what I know from God’s Word that He wills for me.
Happy Snow Day! I don’t get the day off when this happens because transportation is not a problem for me! But I do find that I get more done because it is quiet around here. If your schedule is changed because of the weather, don’t waste the time. Use it for rest or family or for spending time with God in His Word.
I hear that Kathy R has begun chemo treatments. This is both an answer to prayer and a reason to pray. Pray she will be strong and that the drugs will be effective against the cancer in her body.
Carolyn O is home recovering from her surgery. Praise God for its success and pray that she quickly regain strength and mobility.
Pray that our staff and school families be healthy. Pray especially that the viruses being passed around be defeated.
The Children’s Choir is going to sing this Sunday morning. Even those who did not make our last practice should plan on singing with us. I am going to begin a walk through the book of Hebrews this Sunday morning. Sunday evening at 5:00 p.m. we will have adult choir practice and an Outreach Committee meeting. In the 6:30 p.m. service. Pastor Charlie will be preaching from the Psalms.
Next Tuesday, January 16th, is already time again for Senior Lunch and Bible Study.
Souped Up! is less than 3 weeks away. Flyers and order forms will be available on Sunday. Great soup is on the way!
Our country is at war on many fronts. We are fighting or supporting conflict around the world. We are fighting among ourselves in the courts. We have wars going on in our media and commerce. Peace and joy are foreign to our news reports. Pray for Jesus to return.
Embracing Truth. Equipping Saints.
