Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Revelation 1:17 “And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last.” For three years John walked with Jesus. At the last supper, John leaned on Jesus while he listened. John writes in his epistle that his hands touched Jesus. Now in Revelation 1 when John sees Jesus he falls down as dead. What will it be like when we see Jesus? I have a copy of a painting on the wall of my office of Jesus hugging someone. Will that be what it will be like? I’ll run to Him and we will cry and hug? I think not. I believe like John I will be so overwhelmed with Who He is that I will fall flat on my face.
Thank you for those who prayed for us and for those who purchased soup. I asked Jean to pray that I would remain Christlike and kind throughout the day. I think I did! Our 10th Souped Up! was a good success. We made over 400 quarts of soup and have sold most of it. We have frozen less than 50 quarts that are still available for purchase. If not sold before then, they will be in the entry after church on Sunday.
Acts 29 is meeting tonight at Brakers at 7:00 p.m.
A week from Saturday, on February 12th, we are having a Family Valentine Activity. Bring a pasta dish to share and come for an evening of fun. We will begin in the church basement at 5:00 p.m. Imagine the pastabilities!
We hear that Karen P is home and doing well. She has a lot of physical therapy ahead of her to regain what she has lost. Jean would ask us to continue to pray for her healing, strength, and wisdom. She would like to find a means of getting back home.
We will observe Lord’s Table this Lord’s Day morning. Darryl will begin the word exchanges in “The Drama of Job” in Sunday School. I will be taking us through the life of King Asa on Sunday evening. On Sunday morning we will see a picture of Jesus from Revelation 1.
Pray for our church to be a light in this community. Pray for the Word of God to loom large in your life and those of the people in our church. Pray for our elected officials to know the weight of their responsibilities. Pray for peace that we might serve God without hindrance. Pray for Jesus to return.
Embracing Truth, Pastor
