Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, This morning in Bible class we came to the place of Balaam’s prophecy concerning Chris in Numbers 24:17-19 “I see Him, but not now;
I behold Him, but not near; A Star shall come out of Jacob; A Scepter shall rise out of Israel, and batter the brow of Moab, and destroy all the sons of tumult. 18 “And Edom shall be a possession; Seir also, his enemies, shall be a possession, while Israel does valiantly. 19 Out of Jacob One shall have dominion, and destroy the remains of the city.” God used a preacher who was in the wrong place for the wrong reason to prophecy concerning Christ that His arrival would be signified by a Star and that He would have dominion. Wise men saw and studied that miraculous star that pointed to Bethlehem. We too should be aware of the Word of God and how God is fulfilling it today. Christ has yet to destroy and have dominion, but His Day is coming!
All adults are invited to come to the parsonage tonight for an evening of fellowship and fun. Bring a appetizer or sweet to share. We begin at 6:00 p.m.
Our school young people participated with our home school young people in girl’s and guy’s basketball games last evening. I believe they both won. Congratulations!
This Sunday’s schedule is “normal.” Pastor Charlie will be teaching 1 Corinthians 15 in adult Sunday School. I will lead us in considering Mary’s Obedience from Luke 1:26-56. Pastor Shaeffer will be ministering to us at the 6:30 p.m. service from the book of Luke.
Dale S has asked us to pray for his brother Joe who lives in Denver. In a construction accident, he fell off a roof which resulted in a seizure. He has multiple broken bones in his face, including his jaw. He is having reconstructive surgery on Monday.
Continue to pray for Jean W. She is doing some better and has hope of going home this weekend or early next week. Her children from out of town are coming this weekend and she would ask that we pray she might be able to spend Christmas at home with them. She also has a cold.
Kathy R is receiving her final round of chemo. continue to pray for her strength and that the chemo is effective in ridding her of this cancer.
Pray for Joy and the Groll family. The visitation for Dennis Groll will be at Trinity Baptist Church, Fond du Lac from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 18th. There will be a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Dennis and Joy were members of Trinity Baptist when I came as pastor. Burial will take place at Oak Center at 3:00 p.m.
Pray for God’s Word to be large in all our lives in the midst of our busy and changing world. May Jesus be glorified in us. May God’s Presence be as evident as it was to Israel when the fire came out and burned up the sacrifice. “O God, may we see You.”
Embracing Truth, Pastor
