Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Jesus tells both the church in Pergamos and the church in Thyatira to “fold fast” to what they have of Christ. Then, Jesus tells the church in Sardis to “hold fast” and to “strengthen the things which remain.” Life is not often perfect. Local churches are not perfect. Many Christians are not consistently mature in their faith or their responses to circumstances. I believe Jesus would have us hang on to what we do have in Christ. Use what you have. Keep on going. A Bible teacher used to say to us, “When you come to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on.”We had a delightful evening last night at Trinity Baptist School. Many complimented the good food. (Thanks to a great job by Beth Braker and Joslyn Marsh.) The elementary sang well. And the high school, led by Pastors Shaeffer and Charlie, were awesome. Overall, I thought it was a delightful evening.
Continue to pray for Patsy. I learned from Dave this morning that she is in ICU.
Sunday is Church Dinner Day! Darryl will be continuing his chapter by chapter walk through “The Drama of Job.” I will be in Revelation 3 as we consider the Church of Sardis – The Protestant Church. After lunch devos will be from 1 Kings 18 – Elijah and Jehovah vs 850 false prophets of Bail.
We have no school on Monday. Pastor Shaeffer and I will be going to the WACS administrators/board meeting.
Pray for the church in Ukraine – that God might protect them and be glorified in them. Pray for our church – that we might be doers and not just hearers of the Word. Pray for the coming Lord’s Day – that God might be known to be among us in power and truth.
Embracing Truth, Pastor
