Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Psalm 13:1-2 “How long, O Lord? Will You forget me forever? How long will You hide Your face from me? 2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? How long will my enemy be exalted over me?” Have you ever felt like this psalmist? Have you felt like God has forgotten about you? Do you feel like your enemies are winning? Yes, and you are not alone. But look how this psalm ends in verse 6: “I will sing to the Lord, because He has dealt bountifully with me.” Just a few lines latter in the same song we have this drastic change. How can this be? Verse 5 says, “I have trusted in your mercy.” Trust in God is what I need for the conflict of my day.
We had our first summer Wednesday evening Bible study last night. Prayer requests that we shared include: Kim S’s niece – Mikayla – was in the hospital with much pain. I later learned that surgery removed a stray gall stone. Suzanne G’s brother Mike has cancer and is in hospice care. Kevin W has a new job as well as Linda M’s grandson. Tom asked for pray for his neighbor’s salvation. Emma S’s eyes and her cousin Elizabeth’s health. Tim H mentioned that his 102 year o;ld grandmother is on hospice and still needs the Lord. I know Suzanne G and Carolyn O would appreciate your continued prayers for their healing. If you did not join us this past Wednesday, plan on making this a part of your summer schedule. We begin at 7:00 p.m. and have 3 classes: adults, teens, and children.
Our adult Sunday School class for this trimester is on the Attributes of God. Join us in growing in your understanding of Who God is. I will begin Hebrews 11 this coming Sunday – the hall of faith. Pastor Charlie has begun a series in Philippians and will be preaching Sunday evening. Our adult choir and our children’s choir will be singing this Sunday morning.
Next week is the last week of the school year for Trinity Baptist School. Kindergarten graduation and school awards night is on Thursday, May 16th at 6:30 p.m. Then, Caleb and Kaylie Veldman will be graduating from high school on Friday, May 17th at 7:00 p.m. The elementary choir will be singing on Thursday evening and the high school choir will be singing on Friday evening.
May our thoughts be on Jesus. May we determine to love God the most and others as we love ourselves. Pray for the Word of God to be our focus as we come together on this Lord’s Day.
Don’t forget about Mom. Sunday is Mother’s Day.
