Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, I found yesterday to be a refreshing Lord’s Day. I also was encouraged again by the faithfulness of God’s people. Sometimes I wish more of you could be at this building to watch the passing parade of ministry. For instance, on a given Saturday we will have as many as 3 family units come by to clean, musicians will come by to practice for specials/offertories, teachers will come to pick up supplies or prepare their classrooms, and members will run in to drop something off for another member of this body. It’s always a great uplifter to me when I stop to consider how many independent parts there are to this manifestation of the body of Christ Jesus.
I counted 50 who stayed for Church Dinner. It was a comfort food buffet! Thanks to all the great cooks who contributed.
Pray for our church family. Many will be traveling. Those who are hurting know the pain even more during holidays.
Wednesday night we will take some time to worship and thank God. We will spend about an hour reading Scripture and singing hymns. We will begin at 7:00 p.m. If you would be willing to read Scripture during this time of thanks, please let me know and I’ll put you on my agenda. I have 7 opportunities. Anyone, male or female, 5th grade or older is welcome to volunteer.
Join us this coming Saturday at 2:00 p.m. for an opportunity to decorate the church for Christmas. The whole family is invited. Check with Amy if you have an idea or agenda.
Sunday, December 1st is Lord’s Table Sunday. In our Jesus Story Series we come to the Last Supper as presented to us in Matthew’s record. We have our “normal” adult Bible study classes during the Sunday School hour for the month of December. This Sunday night I return to my 1 Samuel series – Samuel’s calling in chapter 3.
Take time this week to enjoy God and His rich gifts to you.
Embracing Truth, Pastor
