Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, The first day of summer comes next week, but it is going to feel like its summer this weekend. I used to fear weekends like this because the auditorium would become so miserable and the air conditioners were so loud. Now I almost look forward to the heat on Sundays. Bring it on!
The old church was busy all day yesterday and will be again today. Zomi Trinity Baptist Church – a group of about 10 families who use our church on Sunday afternoons – is sponsoring a conference. They have invited other Zomi speaking congregations from Sheboygan and Milwaukee to join them for these days. They started around 9a yesterday morning and were still going at 9:15p. I told the leader that they do church a lot longer than we do! They will again go through this evening and then finish this conference tomorrow afternoon. Pray for God’s Word to be paramount in their services.
Tomorrow evening is our annual Congregational business meeting. We will consider budgets for our general, mission, and school funds. We will dedicate our Ministry Committee members for the coming year. We will consider a project and a financial opportunity. We will take up some membership items. If you are a member of Trinity Baptist, please make your attendance at this meeting a priority. I’ll do my best to be judicious with your time.
Pray for healing for Jeremy’s dad, Mark Shaeffer. Pray for wisdom concerning treatment options for Mark and Janet. Pray also for health and strength for Jeremy. Pray that he might have pain free days.
Tomorrow morning Randy and Jan Martin are going to present their new ministry goals to our church during the Sunday School hour. They have accepted a position with Family Life. Come and learn how God is leading them.
Pray for Regan and Mellie to reach their 90% support goal so they can schedule their departure to South Africa. They are over 85%. I spoke with Regan this week. He is really hoping they might be on their way come September.
Are you enjoying our walk through Thessalonians? The Word of God never ceases to amaze me at its relevance to my life. Though written 2,000 years ago on the other side of the Atlantic to Greek-speaking colonies under the rule of Rome, this little book is also written to and for me.
Embracing Truth, Pastor
