In the past Pat Miller has asked us to pray for a friend from their last church who has suffered from cancer. Tiffany Beachell is married and has 2 little girls. Pat learned this morning that this Christian lady has passed away. Please pray for her husband, Dan, and their family – that they might be surrounded by God’s grace during their grief.
It was a beautiful day for a picnic as many of the Bagamoyo church family drifted into Dalilton and Hilda’s yard. Their two-year-old son’s birthday was the occasion and they were excited to have their believing friends meet their relatives and neighbors. Happy chatter surrounded the process of setting up the rustic “kitchen” and the cooking began while children played and men visited.
Our annual International Dinner will be held on October 9th at 6:00 p.m. This night begins with a potluck. Everyone is encouraged to bring their best international-type dishes to share. We then have a couple of games or special music. Our evening will end with a mission challenge from Missionary Michael Hull. This is a family-friendly activity.
This past Lord’s Day – September 26th – we began a new series called “Grief.” It is a study of Lamentations. Sunday School teacher’s introduced the study by giving us the background of Jeremiah – the author. I introduced “Grief” as a topic and preached through chapter 1. This coming Sunday, SS will look at chapter 2 and I will preach through chapter 3. It is going to be a quick study!
Several have written asking about my boat engine. We’ve been on rationed energy and have had very little internet access these past few weeks so I have not been able to get an update out. I did not have peace about sending the boat down to Manaus.
