Stepping, for Darryl Mayes, Tony Miller will continue the series “Sticks, Stones, and Living Waters” in our adult Sunday School classes. I will finish Romans 8. What a great finish Paul brings to this topic of sanctification! We know! Our Sunday evening preacher is Regan Martin. I dare say there will be some Scripture quoted. I also have 3 weeks worth of questions for us to answer.
I normally do not send these kinds of requests, but our co-worker Robert is an exception. Robert is a Ugandan Pastor, Church Planter,Director of a Christian School (in a 95% Muslim area), and now the impetus behind our ministry in Jinja.
Because I took the past two weeks as “vacation days” and decided to make it a stay-at-home-vacation, Lin and I went to 4 different churches these two Sundays. Our Sunday morning churches were larger, evangelical-type churches. Our Sunday evening churches were smaller, fundamental Baptist churches. All the churches had good doctrine.
I recently read a religious journey that seems to mirror much of my own. Though Andrew Himes is 10 years my senior and has a more famous lineage as the grandson of John R. Rice and though he spent many angry years away from family and faith, I identify with many of his reactions to Fundamentalism.
Darryl Mayes continues his very interesting series on pictures of Christ in the Old Testament during the Sunday School hour. In the morning service Pastor Rory will be teaching prophecy from Daniel 7 – one of the key chapters in all of Biblical prophecy. Our Sunday evening preacher is Jeremy Shaeffer.
