“Really?” That was my first thought. A college dorm student had spent Sunday at our church and in my home. When it came time to leave for the dorm, they went into the bathroom and changed clothes. When I commented that they had changed into less-modest, more uncomfortable clothes for the ride home, they said that they would receive demerits if they came back on campus dressed as they had been.
“And Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself….” God give us the commitment to truth and the courage to stand up for that which is right. Thank you for your faithful commitment to the Wisconsin Fellowship of Baptist Churches. We rejoice over the Lord’s provision during the past 61 years to sustain this work. Pray for Fred Chiero. The doctors have determined that he has had a stroke. He will likely be in the hospital for several days.
Mozambican family life presents many challenges. Zito once told us, “My mom was my Dad‟s third wife and my dad was her fourth husband. Now she‟s married to Paulo, my step dad.” The youngest of his mother‟s six children, Zito had only half brothers and sisters. Zito led a rebellious life as a teen and was asked to leave home a couple of years ago. His real dad had nothing to do with him.
Missionaries Joel and Joanie Troester from Mozambique will be our guests and will minister to us both in the adult Sunday School hour and again in the evening service. At the 10a hour I am in Romans 15 where Paul shares with the capital city church his burden for ministry.
