Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, It’s been a while since I have written to you – the Church. Many thing interrupted my “normal” schedule these past couple of weeks. We had a delightful time with George and Darlene Matzko on Sunday through Tuesday. Lin and I had sweet fellowship with them Saturday evening, Sunday noon, Monday evening, and again Tuesday evening. And though this time was far from a chore, it did keep us busier. Thursday of last week I spent the day at Maranatha Baptist University. Every year I enjoy this opportunity to learn what is going on at MBU. Then, Monday and Tuesday, the Shaeffers and Leeds attended the annual meeting of the Wisconsin Fellowship of Baptist Churches. Business was conducted, great fellowship was enjoyed, preaching was a blessing, and – the best yet – I am no longer the treasurer of the Fellowship. Term limits took that task off my hands.
Tonight is already the 3rd night of Awana and Bible study. We are still receiving inquiries about our club. I think this may be our largest attendance ever. Pray for the salvation of clubbers and the strengthening of families through this ministry. Pray our church might glorify God in this.
Pray for Ross Purcell. The plan is for him to receive a pace-maker.
We have fun plans for Sunday evening. The Shaeffers are hosting our fall Sing N’ Smores. So come at 6:30p for singing, fellowship, and a chance to check out the Shaeffer’s new digs. Bring your own chair!
This Sunday we will begin a new trimester of adult studies during the Sunday School hour. Jeremy, Tony, and David are going to be teaching a series on Parenting. In order to facilitate discussion, this class will meet in the SE classroom. Charlie and Darryl are teaching through the book of Galatians and will meet in the auditorium.
I began a new series on Sunday. Except for the last Sunday of the month, we are going to be looking at Proverbs for the next several months. Last week we started the series with a biblical definition of “The Fear of the LORD.” This week we are going to see what the Scriptures say about Wisdom. Is it OK to be a fool?
