Trinity Baptist Church Family, Psalm 36:1-4 “An oracle within my heart concerning the transgression of the wicked: there is no fear of God before his eyes. 2 For he flatters himself in his own eyes, when he finds out his iniquity and when he hates. 3 The words of his mouth are wickedness and deceit; he has ceased to be wise and to do good. 4 He devises wickedness on his bed; he sets himself in a way that is not good; he does not abhor evil.” Sometimes it is hard to discern between good and evil. In Psalm 36, David helps us to know what is evil. I was especially convicted by the arrogance of those who flatter themselves when they are exposed for being wicked. Oh may my heart hate evil.

We are having a great week in Bible School. Beth and the staff were well prepared. Our young people are doing a great job teaching. We are running about 40 students and have about 20 leaders/staff here every night. We have had a few visitors. Pray that we finish well tonight.

We could still use a handful of more volunteers for Saturday morning at Kohler. If you can stand for 5-6 hours, we’d love your help, teens and/or adults. We will meet at the church at 3:00 p.m. on Friday to return by 10:00 p.m. Then, we will meet at the church at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday to return by 2:00 p.m. I know that’s early on Saturday, but we will be home early too!

Sunday is Church Dinner Day! Darryl will tell us about Elihu in The Drama of Job in Sunday School. In the morning service i will be in Revelation 10-11, Half Time and Two Witnesses. After dinner, we will read 2 Kings 8. It’s kind of a wrap up of the lives of Elisha and Ahab’s children.

Linda M has prepared her ballot for the coming partisan primary election on August 9th. There are copies on the back table in the auditorium. If you have any questions, she’d be happy to speak with you or send you an email with some of her thinking. Plan to vote. All elections are important, but this one is especially so.

Men’s Retreat is in two weeks (August 11-13). If you are planning to go and have not yet signed up, take care of this so our crew can plan food. If you’d like to go for a day, but not spend the night, talk to me. I plan to drive back and forth.

My Uncle Dave began chemo and radiation treatments yesterday. They will continue to 6 weeks. Pray for concerns for Dave and Kathy R’s health. Pray for salvation of friends, family, and those in our community.

Please read our missionary letters as they get reproduced in our bulletin. Then pray for them. We have recently received a lot of letters. Much is happening among the missionaries supported by the designated giving to missions at Trinity Baptist Church.

Embracing Truth,  Pastor
