Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family,
Psalm 115:1 “Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but to Your name give glory, because of Your mercy, because of Your truth.” May God receive the glory in our life and work.
We have another snowy, windy Wednesday. I don’t think the roads are going to ice over like last week. I am looking forward to getting back to my Awana clubbers.
Calling adults, young and old. You are all invited and wanted at the adult Christmas Party at the Parsonage this Friday, December 13th at 6:00 p.m. Bring a sweet or savory party dish to share and plan on a good time. If 6:00 p.m. is too early, come when you can and, then, leave when you must. I look forward to the food, fun, and fellowship.
This Sunday, December 15th, at the 10:00 a.m. service, our adult choir under the direction of Devin Scherck will be presenting a Christmas musical ministry. Devin and the choir have worked very hard on this and I am looking forward to the blessing. We will not have junior church during this service.
During this week’s Sunday School, I am going to finally finish the book of Acts! We began this book during Sunday School in January of this year. Pastor Shaeffer will also be teaching the New Members Class. Beginning in January, Darryl M is going to present a survey of Old Testament doctrine. I am looking forward to this.
My preaching for the next 3 Sundays will focus on the doxological words of Mary, Zacharias, and Simeon found in Luke 1 & 2. Pastor Shaeffer is preaching this Sunday evening.
Mark your calendar for Thursday, December 19th, at 6:30 p.m. It’s our annual TBS Christmas program. The whole school will be sharing music and readings of Christmas. At this program we will receive an offering for our TBS teachers. If you cannot be at the program, you could designate to this gift one of the next two Sundays.
Are you listening to any of the news? The collapse of the bad dictatorship in Syria has created a lot of uncertainty. Russia, Turkey, Israel, Iran, and the United States all have a vested interest on who will have the power as a new government is put together. Whenever events happen in the Middle East, I cannot help but wonder how God is going to use this event in working out His Purpose. I preached to the High School from 2 Thessalonians 2 today. I am looking forward to our gathering together to Him. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
Embracing Truth. Equipping Saints.
