Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Psalm 131 “Lord, my heart is not haughty, nor my eyes lofty. Neither do I concern myself with great matters, nor with things too profound for me. 2 Surely I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with his mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me. 3 O Israel, hope in the Lord from this time forth and forever.” We read this psalm yesterday at breakfast and while reading it we laughed because of how appropriate it was for us. It’s very easy to concern ourself with matters beyond our ability, beyond our control, or just none of our business. Instead we need to often remind ourselves to quiet our soul and hope in the Lord, always.
Kathy R has been sick and weak because of chemo since Sunday afternoon. She says she believes it is going better than last cycle at this stage. Her sister is with her caring for her. She hopes to be in Bible study tonight. Pray for healing. Pray that the nodule in her lung shrinks and that this will be obvious in the scan she will have in a couple of weeks.
We learned that Ron H was at the hospital on Sunday morning. He had a heart attack because of pooling around his heart. I see on fb that he went home yesterday. Pray for his continued health and healing. Pray for Amy as she cares for him.
Men’s Retreat is tomorrow through Saturday. Pray for safety, fun, fellowship, and a spiritually enriching time. Jeremy is preaching Friday morning, I on Friday night, and Charlie on Saturday morning.
I am preaching from Ephesians 1:7-12 on Sunday morning about our inheritance in Christ. Charlie continues his Genesis series on Sunday evening.
Tuesday at noon, our Senior’s Bible Study returns to Rolling Meadows Restaurant. We order and eat at noon and then will do a topical study. Our subject this week will be “What does the Bible say about War and National Defense?” We are done about 1:30 p.m.
Enjoy the gift of this wonderful time of year with all the fresh vegetables and warm afternoons! Rejoice in the Lord always!
Embracing Truth, Pastor
