Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Psalm 141:1-2 Lord, I cry out to You; Make haste to me! Give ear to my voice when I cry out to You. 2 Let my prayer be set before You as incense, The lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice. May I put the words of the psalmist in Dan’s vernacular? “God, hurry up and listen to me! And may my requests be pleasing to you.” The next verse reads Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips. I have issues today. And I’d like God to hurry up and fix some things. But I also desire to be pleasing to God and I know I need His help to say only righteous things.
First issue: COVID19. The number of new cases in Fond du Lac county has been rising. I have been in consultation with our Ministry Committee. At this time we are going to continue to have services and ministries as planned. We again discourage hand shaking and encourage giving physical space to non-family members while at church. Take advantage of the whole auditorium in finding seats. I love the fact that the front rows have been used! If Sunday mornings are too crowded for you, choose to join us on Sunday evening. We will also continue to broadcast through our Facebook page.
The teens have an activity at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 28 called Peril at the Parsonage. It is a Clue-like game with live characters. It sounds like it will be a lot of fun. Contact Pastor Charlie if you have questions.
Sunday is our annual church picnic. After normal Sunday School and morning service, we will gather at the Shaeffer Farm for a pot luck dinner and fun. Pork and roasted corn will be provided. An offering bucket will be present to help with expenses. The picnic will begin about 12:30 p.m. Bring a lawn chair and stay as long as you are able.
Yesterday I learned that my seminomas has spread into my lymph nodes. Back in January I was told there was a 15% chance of this happening. I have another test before I meet with an oncologist. I will likely be receiving chemo treatments. After praying off and on for the last 6 months for God to keep me clean of this, Monday evening I changed my prayer to asking God to help me respond rightly whatever the results. As I am feeling well right now, it is easy to respond well. I pray I may always respond in a manner that brings praise to Jesus. Please pray with me towards this end. This cancer is curable. Pray for healing.
Pray for healing for Jean. Pray for protection for the people of Kenosha. Pray for the rioting to end. Pray for our country and the coming elections. Pray for us to be biblical in our thinking in a changing world. Pray for Jesus to return.
Embracing Truth, Pastor
