Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Psalm 118:14 The Lord is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation. Psalm 118:21 I will praise You, For You have answered me, And have become my salvation. Pastor Shaeffer read Psalm 118 to us this morning in staff devos. He pointed out the many themes in this chapter that are picked up in the New Testament and repeated by us. Because I color in my Bible, these two verses stood out to me. The Lord is my salvation because He is my strength and song. I praise God because He is my salvation.
Kathy R rejoices to tell us that her scan on Friday is completely negative. They saw no signs of cancer! Woohoo!
Tonight is Awana Grand Prix. Concessions open at 5:00 p.m. A hot dog combo (hot dog, chips, soda) is $3. Nachos are $4. Soda by itself is $1. Water, popcorn, and birthday cake are free! Birthday cake? The Braker twins are 5 today!
The WFBC Ladies’ Retreat at Green Lake is this Friday and Saturday. I believe we have about 15 going from our church. (Pray for the dads who are home with the kids!) Pray for safety and spiritual edification. May our church be stronger, Jesus be glorified, and the ladies who attend refreshed because of this weekend.
Sunday evening is our Congregation’s Quarterly business meeting. I had scheduled a Men’s Meeting for 5:00 p.m. that I would like to cancel for two reasons. One – Easter is one week away and the choir would appreciate the practice with the whole choir. Two – I believe the reports I would give the Men’s Meeting can be presented to the Congregation at the 6:30 p.m. meeting. So no Men’s Meeting, but members should make attending the evening service a priority.
Please pray. I believe Providence moves because of our petitions. Pray for repentance in the church of Jesus in America. Pray for God’s glory to be seen in the horror of war in Ukraine. Pray for God’s Word to be our focus – consuming us. Pray for Trinity Baptist to be holy and wise in a changing culture.
Embracing Truth, Pastor
