Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family: In the steel mill, we regularly had to cut samples of our machine’s weld. Then the QC department came and picked up our samples. They’d get the metal real cold and then try to break the weld. QC determined whether or not the weld was good to go. Philippians 4:8 is QC for our thinking. “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.”
On this cloudy, windy, yucky day when we are stuck in the seemingly endless “Safer at Home,” we need some thought guidance. Believers are instructed by Paul to think on things that are true, noble, just, pure, lovely, and of good report. If we cannot praise God for it, perhaps it ought not be in our thinking. (That will eliminate a lot of Facebook posts and news releases!) So put God’s QC department to work on your attitude and think Christ-like thoughts.
Continue to pray for Carol. I understand that she has been moved to Hospice Home of Hope. I believe their children are in town with Ross.
Jeremy is teaching God’s Word tonight at 7:00 p.m. live on our Facebook page. You may reply to this email if you’d like to share prayer requests with him during the day today or you can post them for others to see during the live stream tonight.
If your Awana Clubbers can finish their book this week, get them to say those last sections. There will be an Awana Club drive by in the parking lot next Wednesday night, May 6th, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Awana Leaders will be available to review books. Make sure all the sections are already said. I believe treats will be involved! Awana Awards is scheduled for September 2, 2020 as a kick off in the new year.
