Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family: Pray for Amy Hayden. She has messaged me that she had her appendix removed this morning. I spoke with Ross. He is lonely, but hanging in there. Carol is still at the hospital. His last word from a doctor was on Sunday.
I have attached a job description for Youth Minister/Teacher. In March the Men’s Meeting agreed to move forward with hiring Charlie Leeds as Youth Minister and Teacher. This was referred to the Ministry, Finance, and School Committees. The Ministry Committee is recommending to the Congregation that Charlie be called to join the Pastors at Trinity Baptist. They asked me to put together a job description reflecting the goals of the church in calling Charlie. I am not sure when we as a Congregation will be able to meet to consider their recommendation. We have indefinitely postponed our Quarterly Meeting that was to be held the first Sunday evening in April. Our annual meeting is scheduled for the afternoon of June 28th. I encourage you to read through this job description and express concerns or questions you might have to Jeremy, myself, or members of the Ministry Committee. Hopefully, we will get a chance to discuss this as a body prior to the annual meeting!
You are encouraged to send prayer requests to Pastor Shaeffer today. Tune in tonight to Pastor Shaeffer’s 7:00 p.m. Bible Study on our Facebook page. I believe he will be at the end of Luke 5.
Jesus assures His disciples of God’s loving care for them in Luke 12:31-32: “But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you. 32 Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” Jesus addresses His disciples as “little flock.” Do you feel insignificant today? Do you feel like your needs and agenda are being ignored in the larger scheme of things – by God and government? We ought to note that our Father has great intentions concerning our future. It’s going to be OK because our Heavenly Dad has good plans for us!
Embracing Truth, Pastor
