Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Proverbs 14:1 “The wise woman builds her house, but the foolish pulls it down with her hands.” When I started working in a Chicago steel mill as a nineteen-year-old, I worked alongside a man in his early twenties who was always complaining about his “old lady.” I was naive enough that It took me a while to figure out that he was talking about his twenty-year-old wife! One of the dumbest things anyone can do is publicly criticize their spouse. Today, people do it on social media where all the world can read it forever! It is also unwise to publicly criticize our church, our school, our children, or our faith. When we publicly criticize these things we are pulling our house down with our own hands. We are self-inflicting. I ought to strive to build up my marriage, my employment, my family, my country, and my church. Oh, they all have faults, but they are what God has given me and it is my job to build them, not destroy them.
Kathy R has continued to update me on the health of her 16-month-old great-nephew, Ezekiel. As of this morning his numbers have improved and there is hope he will not need a liver transplant. Continue to pray for Ezekiel, Gina (his mom), and their family.
We have a Building/Grounds Committee meeting at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday and a Finance Committee meeting at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. We have much to discuss in both meetings. Pray for wisdom and God’s guidance.
Our church has 6 seniors graduating from high school this year. Pray that they and other students might finish strong in this last quarter. Pray that our youth might make godly choices.
Pray for one another. Pray that God be glorified in our homes and our church.
Embracing Truth, Pastor
