Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Psalm 27:1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Every day and all the time, I need spiritual light and salvation. God is the only source of both.
I hope you had a good Labor Day. We had a picnic in our back yard. It was warm but the fellowship was sweet. My relatives from my mom’s side who live in the area have purposed to get together on some holidays. They are believers, so there is a double connection.
Wayne Sabel was the handiman who installed our large shade in the back of the auditorium earlier this year. I have learned that he passed away on account of a car/bike accident. We have been asked to pray for his family. Alex W has been struggling with stomach ulcers and kidney stones. He has been to the ER twice recently. Pray for his healing and wisdom for him to care for himself. Kathy R has learned she may have surgery as early as September 19th. Continue to pray for pain relief and the healing work of God. Holly V’s kids tell us that she continues to get therapy and improve in small steps. Van F is in week 3 of radiation therapy. Carolyn O was in church Sunday! Pray for her surgery to heal and for wisdom moving forward. Also continue to pray for surgery recovery and wisdom for Anita G, Linda M, and Bill S.
Tomorrow begins another Awana Clubs’ year at Trinity Baptist Church. This is our 31st year of Awana. The night begins at 6:30 p.m. Registration forms may be found on our church Facebook page. You might want to come early this first week as there will be books, uniforms, and dues to care for.
Our adult Wednesday Bible Study moves back to the great room of the parsonage at 6:45 p.m. Curt O will be leading an inductive study on prayer. This study attempts to be done about 7:45 p.m. to make way for the Awana dismissal.
On a personal note: I will be traveling to the campus of Maranatha Baptist University this Thursday. It is considered a recruitment day for churches to get students to come to their local church. I see it as a good day for fellowship with other pastors and the MBU staff. I also find it is a good way for me to get a feel for what is going on at MBU – a Baptist Bible university on 60 miles from our church.
Remember and pray for those in Hawaii and Florida. Pray especially for the churches in those areas that they might glorify Jesus in their service. Pray for the church in Ukraine. Pray for wisdom for our leaders. A lot of weird stuff is happening on the international front. Pray for God to burden those in Madison and Washington with a sense of truth and right.
Have you read God’s Word yet today. If you have no plan, perhaps turn to Psalm 27. It will only take you 5 minutes to read. May you be encouraged as you do so.
