Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, I have a bit of a reputation for marking the seasons, especially on my fb. So here is good news, the darkest 2 months are once again behind us and the coldest weeks of the year are drawing to an end. Today we have a picture of warmer days in weeks to come. I know we have 2 months of cold weather remaining and I know it is 3 months until flowers and yard work resumes, but it is good to see signs of spring whether on the calendar or in the air! I feel like David also marked the days. In the psalm Lin and read this morning he sings “My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning I will direct it to You, and I will look up.” Today is a day to look up. It’s a day to direct my thoughts to God, regardless of the circumstances or the season. We hear from Karen P’s family that the type of stroke she had is one the normally has great potential for recovery. She is swallowing and walking with help. She is out of ICU and will be moved to a floor that has a lot of intense physical therapy. Continue to pray for her healing.
Continue to pray for strength for Jean W. Tom G’s one ear is still pretty mjuch plugged. Pray he will find relief. Pray for Norma D’s health. Pray for safety on the road and healing for Dave and Kathy. They are on a road trip to the southwest.
The meat is roasted, the carrots are chopped, and orders are coming in. Souped Up! is from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. this Thursday, February 3rd. Come by and choose from 7 types of soup for $10 per quart. They will be hot on Thursday, but they freeze well. Pastor Shaeffer has set a goal of 400 quarts. Help us reach this good goal.
Men’s Prayer breakfast is this Saturday. I’m thinking waffles. If you have not signed up, do so or let my know by Friday.
Pray for our country. Pray for Haiti’s poverty. Pray for missionaries in Ukraine. Pray that you might live according to Holy Spirit’s leading.
Embracing Truth, Pastor
