Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Missionary Rebekah F has safely made it to Ukraine! She was met by missionary friends who helped her get to and into her apartment on Tuesday. Then yesterday, she got a European sim card for her phone and purchased a bus pass. Look out Kiev! Remember to pray for her as she begins her teaching/discipling works in the Ukraine.
I rejoice in last night’s good Awana. We shared conversations last night and again this morning about the contacts being made and the movement of the Word of God in lives.
Acts29 (young Adults) have a Bible study at 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening at the Tony Braker home.
Men’s Prayer breakfast is Saturday at 8:00 a.m. Eight of us are signed up. Let me know if you will be joining us so I can have biscuits and gravy ready. We will be done before 9:30 a.m.
If you need it to rain, schedule a Sing ‘N’ S’mores! We will have a sing on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. Pastor Shaeffer is going to lead us in some choruses. If it does not rain, we will be around a fire in the parsonage yard. Bring S’more stuff, cookies, or other snacks and drinks of your choice. If it is rainy as forecasted, we will move into the church.
Remember to pray for Kathy R. Because of chemo, her blood counts are down so she is being careful. I think this is her “off week” so she should be gaining strength to get ready for more chemo. Pray for her strength and that this chemo is working to drive this cancer from her body.
Sunday morning we will have Lord’s Table. We traditionally take up a benevolent or mission project offering at this time. During the last two summers we have received an offering for Randy and Jan Martin. We have not done this yet this year. Plan for us to receive a second offering at the end of Lord’s Table this Sunday for the Martins.
I will return to Ephesians 4:1-16 this Sunday morning. We learn much about the people and purpose of the church in this text. Who is Trinity Baptist supposed to be? What is Trinity Baptist supposed to do? I have been amazed at how Pastor Charlie’s teaching in 1 Corinthians has jived with our Ephesians subject matter. It is only by Providence that this has worked so well. I know I am not that smart!
The Lord’s Day is coming soon. Rejoice and remember the goodness of God to you.
Embracing Truth, Pastor
