Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family: It has been abundantly evident these past two days that our church family has an overwhelming desire to come together. First, over 50 spread out in the parking lot of the City/County Building on Tuesday to welcome Taven, Sophia, and Kinley into the Shaeffer family. Then 14 from our church were at the grave side Committal service for Carol Purcell. And last night, as over 20 car loads of Awana Clubbers circled through our parking lot as a dozen directors and leaders were stationed to review books and greet the Clubbers. Several times this week I have been asked, “When do we get to have church?” I wish I knew the answer. Soon, it must be soon.
That our burden to fellowship and worship together is present and growing in our spirits is a good thing. I’d worry about our faith if we did not care about our separation. Listen to Paul’s desire to be with the Thessalonian church: 1 Thessalonians 3:11-13 Now may our God and Father Himself, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way to you. 12 And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another and to all, just as we do to you, 13 so that He may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints. Did you catch that? Paul was praying that he’d be able to worship with them face to face. His larger desire was that they might grow in love and be established in holiness. And Paul was looking forward to the coming of Jesus. But let us not overlook the fact that Paul wanted to physically be with that church – like now.
Men are invited to come to the church for prayer on Saturday, 8:00 a.m. Ladies are invited to come to the church (parsonage fire pit if it is warm enough) on Sunday, 6:00 p.m. for fellowship. Children under 13 should not come to either of these events. Physical distance will also be possible in both cases.
This coming Sunday at 10:00 a.m. I am going to talk about prophetic signs given to the church of the coming Day of the Lord. Please join us on our Facebook page.
Carolyn Olson’s sister in law, Pam, passed away yesterday. Pray for Carolyn’s brother Steve Baker, their daughters, and grandchildren as they grieve the loss of Pam. Pam was a believer.
Pray for our country. Pray for COVID19 to be defeated. Pray for government leaders to be wise and righteous in their choices. Pray for our church to be faithful to God’s Word. Pray that we might grow in love and be established in holiness. Pray that we might be able to meet and worship as a gathered church soon.
Embracing Truth, Pastor
