Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, When I got to the office this morning I found an email from my sister Ruth – our missionary in Scotland. She had a question for me about computers that I could not answer. But first she told me of how they were dealing with COVID issues in Scotland and about their church and about her children and grandchildren and about how she and Jon were doing. It was refreshing this morning to hear news from someone I know and love.
Have you heard from God today? Or maybe I should ask, has God heard from you? Hear this instruction from Psalm 98:4-6: Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth; Break forth in song, rejoice, and sing praises. 5 Sing to the Lord with the harp, with the harp and the sound of a psalm, 6 With trumpets and the sound of a horn; shout joyfully before the Lord, the King. What keeps you from shouting joyfully before the Lord this day?
Tomorrow is the culmination of this year’s Dave Shell Memorial Auction. 145 items are listed and the bidding is progressing at biddingowl.com. Look for Trinity Baptist School under Featured Auctions and join in the fun! All proceeds help Trinity Baptist School continue to be a strong and effective ministry.
Saturday, May 30th, is our spring work day. Priority projects include washing and shampooing chairs, cleaning windows, and changing light bulbs. If you have a good ladder you prefer, bring it along. Come work together as a family in the house where God’s people come together.
Pastor Shaeffer is our preacher on Sunday morning. He did a great job from Luke’s record of the Sermon on the Mount last Lord’s Day morning. He said he is going to Part 2 in that text this week. We are going to resume Sunday School at 8:45 a.m. this Lord’s Day. That’s going to be a bit weird after a slow and easy start to the last 10 Sundays. For those who are comfortable with it, we are also going to have Church Dinner this week. I will bring a short devotion after lunch.
Embracing Truth, Pastor
