Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family: “Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!” Little children have to be encouraged to try new foods. Sometimes, they have to try something several times before they develop a taste for it. Have you “tasted” the Lord Jesus? How about today? Have you experienced that He is good?
Saturday morning is our monthly Men’s Prayer Breakfast. I currently have 7 men and boys signed up. We meet at 8:00a in the church basement. We talk, eat, pray, and are done before 9:30a. If you are not signed up and would like to join us, please let me know ASAP so I can have food ready.
This Lord’s Day we return to our Wisdom for Life series to examine “Work.” The Scripture is very pointed on this topic. It won’t take much preaching to make us aware of God’s thoughts on work. Sunday evening, Charlie is preaching from Hebrews. There is a Reflections for the teens after the evening service.
A week from tonight, Thursday, December 12th, Trinity Baptist School will be presenting a program that will include drama and music. This program will include all our students – preschool through senior high. As has been our custom at the TBS Christmas program, we will collect an offering that will be a gift to our teaching staff. It’s one way we can say thank you to those who minister faithfully to our children.
Our church choir is presenting a cantata titled “Appalachian Winter” on Sunday morning, December 15th during the 10:00a worship service. Devin Scherck and the choir have worked hard on this. I think you will enjoy the music and benefit from the message. I will also preach that morning – the message will be short!
It’s an over-used cliche, but don’t forget the “Reason for the Season.” Come be a part of the people of God as we celebrate God’s greatest gift.
Embracing Truth, Pastor
