Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Isaiah 55:8-9 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. 9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.” More and more, I’m glad I am not in charge. I suppose some may think that I am in charge of a lot, but not really. Ultimately, I’m barely in charge of my own mind! With every passing day I want to default to the confidence that God knows what He is doing. Many years ago I learned to say when asked to do something about the weather because I am a Pastor, “Sorry, I work in sales, not management.” Now I wonder if I even work in sales, maybe I should say housekeeping. But praise God, I can always have confidence in the Manager.
Please pray for these health needs: Kathy R texted me to say that her CT scan revealed no spread of her cancer! And that the nodule they were tracking was slightly smaller. Her oncologist recommends surgery to remove that nodule. We are praising God that her chemo seemed to have a good effect. Van F has asked us to pray about a slow-growing cancer that he has. He will have surgery that should take care of it in October. Annika S contracted Covid while at LEAD last week, so the Shaeffers have been quarantined this week. They plan to be out on Sunday. John and Mollie H have reached out to me today to pray because they have Covid. They have been at their place in Door County this summer. And remember to pray for Steve B – father of a friend of my kids who has had Covid and has been in the hospital for quite some time.
Some church business updates: I have not heard from our projector contact. We have a new copier in the office! Parts for the east doors have been delayed, so that project likely won’t happen until late September. We have a School Committee Meeting this Sunday at 5:30 p.m.
Lin and I ran away for two days. We enjoyed each other and the wonder of the Great Lake God created to the east of us.
I hope to see you in Church!
Embracing Truth, Pastor
