A thought on prayer from my study today.

In my preparing for the SS teacher’s lessons for January I am at Ephesians 3:16 just now, “that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man.”

John Newton wrote a hymn challenging us to pray according to God’s riches:
Thou art coming to a King
Large petitions with thee bring;
For his grace and power are such,
None can ever ask too much.

Oh Father, please take sin far from my heart. Protect me from my selfish ways. Strengthen and grant wisdom to your Church that we might best glorify you.
