This coming Lord’s Day we will conclude our study in the book of Esther. It has been a short and fun series. I call this week’s sermon “Commanded to Celebrate!” I think the topic is appropriate to Christmas and the Lord’s Table – which we will observe this Sunday morning. On Sunday evening at 6:30p we will have our quarterly Congregational Meeting.
We had a busy weekend at the parsonage. Between family and guests Lin and I counted that we served almost 80 meals between Friday evening and Sunday night. In the course of the weekend Mom’s China was in and out of the dishwasher a few times.
This coming Lord’s Day we are in week 2 of a 4-week series on the Old Testament historical book called Esther. Esther the Jew became Queen of the largest empire in the world in 479 bc. This week we will learn lessons about life when evil is victorious.
I begin a new preaching series this Lord’s Day at 10a. It is a 4-week sermon series on the book of Esther. This is an amazing drama worthy of the best efforts of screen and stage. Come learn about the working of God in a pagan land 2500 years ago. During our 8:45a hour, the adult Bible study teachers are continuing their work through the book of Ephesians from the Word of God.
