Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Jesus was despised and rejected. Hebrews 13:12 says He “suffered outside the gate.” The cross was outside the city walls. The scapegoat was taken away from the camp. So how should true imitators of Jesus operate in relationship to society? “Therefore let us go forth to Him, outside the camp, bearing His reproach. 14 For here we have no continuing city, but we seek the one to come.” Hebrews 13:13-14 We are to join Christ outside of the approval of society. We are not to value our citizenship here, but rather our citizenship in the “continuing city, the one to come.” What or who is determining your thoughts and emotions today? Believers are to go to Jesus who is “outside the camp.” Here, we are to bear “His reproach.” Again, what or who are we allowing to own our thoughts?
Tomorrow is the Lord’s Day! I am preaching on signs believers will see that the Day of the Lord is approaching. I’ll use Hebrews 10:25 as my launching point for this topical sermon. Sermon note help is attached for printing. Bulletins for Sunday are in the boxes at church.
This week was to be TBS Awards night and TBS High School graduation. Abby Veldman is our TBS graduate. I believe Andrew Marsh is also graduating this year. We will livestream a TBS Awards from 6:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on our church Facebook page. A graduation ceremony for Abby is currently on hold pending the lifting of restrictions.
On the subject of graduations, we ought to congratulate Amy Braker who received her Bachelor’s Degree from Maranatha Baptist University this week! Yahoo, Amy!
I continue to rejoice in the faithfulness of God’s people in financial giving to the Church and in serving each other. The commitment of God’s people is inspiring.
A Ladies’ Fellowship is planned for tomorrow evening at the church at 6:00 p.m. Five men joined together for an hour of prayer this morning.
