Saturday, March 28, 2020 Fear#12

Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family: In the days of good King Jehoshaphat, a great multitude from the surrounding nations came up against Judah. The king proclaimed a fast and gathered the whole nation together to pray about the crises. Jehoshaphat led the people in worship reminding God of His promises and laying out before God the specifics of the great multitude coming against them. God gave a message to a Levite who told Jehoshaphat and the people, “You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you.” 2 Chronicles 20:17 Then the Levites led the whole nation in singing praises to God. Do you remember what happened in the morning? As Jehoshaphat led the nation – men, women, and children – out against that great multitude, I think he remembered the glory of the temple music the day before. So he suggested to the people that they sing again as they marched against the invading armies. The Bible says “when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushes against the people … who had come against Judah; and they were defeated.”

God’s people were told to “stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you.” God is defined as being present. And we need not fear because it is the God who is present with us who fights our battles.

These days remain confusing. I am absolutely sure that I don’t have the answers nor do I know what the future holds. But I decided long ago that I will believe and trust God regardless of what any day brings.

Tomorrow we will worship together again via the church facebook page. Tune in before 10:00 a.m. so you are ready to join us. I have attached again today the notes for tomorrow – Lessons from Peter’s Denial.

Tomorrow’s bulletin will again be in your box at church. The bulletin is valuable to keep up with what is going on in the lives of our missionaries. We will attach “Here a Little” for next week to tomorrow’s email. Perhaps take the time to use it to prepare for next week’s preaching.

Thank you and give praise to God for the many who have determined to find a way to keep giving whether through the link on our trinityfdl.net website, the mail, or by bringing their giving to the church.

We pray for Bill and Kim Struska. Kim’s mom passed away. Also we grieve and pray with Stephanie Hanes with the loss of her Grandmother. Remember to pray for Ross Purcell who has been admitted to the hospital. Pray also for Janet Russell, Bonnie Fiebig, and Tom Michler who are in nursing facilities.

Embracing Truth, Pastor
