Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, In my reading this week I read Genesis 10: a list of names. I also read some parts of Nehemiah which are not much more than a list of names. I don’t know about you, but I cheat a little when I read chapters like this. I look past the names to find the parts of the chapter that are not names. Have you ever wondered why God put so many lists of names in the Bible? Especially lists of Israelites who were singers or doorkeepers or Levites who carried stuff? I’m not pretending to know God’s agenda, but I do think He wants you and me to know He cares uniquely for us. He knows our name and He knows who we are and what we do no matter how insignificant we may think we are. As I have been thinking more lately about the Millennial Kingdom, I wondered this week if we might someday be neighbors – those people in those lists of names and me? If God took the time and space to remember their name, I think He has a place for them and I know He has a place for us. Jesus said so.

Kathy R began to feel sick on Sunday afternoon and had a rough mid-week. She did not have chemo this week. Pray she recovers and more so pray that the chemo is effective against her cancer.

I had another CT scan this week. My oncologist tells me I am “cancer free” as far as he is concerned. I rejoice to believe that God has brought me through this for a reason. To God be the glory.

We have VBS this week beginning during the Sunday School hour and continuing Sunday through Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. The decorations are up, songs are ready, crafts are prepared, and teachers are excited. Pray for children to come and for God to work among us.

Because of VBS we will not have our Sunday evening service or our Wednesday Bible studies this week.

Tomorrow morning i am going to talk about restoring relationships from 2 Samuel 14 in Sunday School at 8:45 a.m. Then, in the morning service at 10:00 a.m. I am finishing Daniel as we listen to an angel tell us about the time of the end. I intend to begin Ephesians next Lord’s Day.

We still have need for a few more willing hearts to help at the Kohler Picnic. Teens and adults, we need you!

Pray for one another. Pray for our country. Pray for people to be saved in Fond du Lac. Pray that our church be rightly aligned with God’s Word.

Embracing Truth,

Pastor
